I am trying to get my scanner working on Windows 10 The latest version of net is 6 or 7, the old software being supplied is dated 2015 and wants version 2 of .net Time for some updates. After all this unit is still being sold nation wide.

How do I get to "clear user data"? My scanner is plugged to the computer and says "Mass Storage". Where do I go to clear user data. Have been searching for an hour and can't figure it out.

The scanner doesn't have a user data section to clear it. You can reset it using the Power button. Press on the Power button and keep it pressed for a couple of seconds. After this operation, the scanner will reset all its settings and any other custom configuration. The Mass Storage is the storage available withing the scanner. It may be an SDcard, a USB flash driver, or a built-in hard drive.
The installation wizard of HomePatrol Sentinel doesn't start. I am running Windows 8. How can I overcome this?

It seems that the latest version of the program comes bundled in a ZIP archive. You need to unpack the archive to start the installation process. If you don't have a tool for this job, use 7-ZIP. After you extracted the file, double click on Setup.exe to launch the installation wizard. However, to use the program on your OS, you need to download the compatible drivers. You can find all the download links for program and drivers on the official website.
My HomePatrol 1 will not update also I get a blue screen saying to disconnect it from power for 1 min. Then it says SD card needs formatting I can't get the programs to download on my Windows 10.

The first thing to do is to check the error with the card. Input the SD card into your computer through a card reader and then check it for errors. If you don't have anything on the SD card, format it. You can do it using the standard Format tool in Windows or install an application called MiniTool Partition Wizard.
Once the card is formatted and ready pe be used again, insert it into the device and test its behavior. The error should be fixed now, but if it says the same thing, then the device is faulty or the SD card needs to be replaced as well.
